Shinrin-Yoku
and the Y Tree
My Shinrin-Yoku Story
I have been "forest bathing" for many years, long before reading about shinrin-yoku—“spending time among trees.” (See this page for a definition of the practice.)
I try to make time outside each day for some deep breathing.
My favorite place for slowing down is at the top of Laurel Hill above our house, where I try clearing my mind while focusing on what I now call the Y tree.
When my wife Jeri asked me to pose with my arms outstretched so she could have a profile for an art piece she was working on, little did I know that print would feature me with the Y tree.
